Direct Support Professional Appreciation Day

Direct Support Professional Day_Web

It’s important to recognize Direct Support Professionals for their hard work. They are dedicated to helping us to feel and be included in our communities. We rely on them in so many ways to help us develop and grow.

Each fall we create a colorful story garden on the Vermont State House lawn. Our story garden displays hundreds of personal stories and artwork created by people with disabilities. Sharing our stories helps others understand the experiences of people with disabilities. We teach people about how support workers make a difference in our lives.

This event is organized by Green Mountain Self-Advocates, Vermont Care Partners, and the Vermont Developmental Disabilities Services Division.
