Hire Up Employment Curriculum: Job Club Run by Self-Advocates
May 23, 2020

GMSA can show you how to start and run employment support groups that are facilitated by self-advocates. Self-advocates support their peers to feel confident about running their own lives and deciding what they want to do. Each person brings their issues to the group with the intention of getting support in dealing with the frustrations of unemployment and underemployment. Most members feel peer facilitators create a comfortable, non-judgmental atmosphere that encourages people to discuss and explore barriers to employment.
